Irene Sofiya Mohd Khairool Faisal, a Form Four student, was discovered dead at her Yong Peng secondary school on Friday after her grandmother grew concerned when she did not return home by late afternoon. A forensic pathologist at Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital confirmed that blunt-force trauma to the head caused her death. The Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, led by Datuk M. Kumar, announced the arrest of a fellow 16-year-old boy, who has been remanded for six days on a murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Police emphasized that the probe is being conducted transparently, with assistance from the school and the Education Ministry, and urged the public to respect the family’s privacy and avoid speculation.
