Train strike disrupts hundreds of services as negotiations stall

The locomotive drivers' strike continues, causing the cancellation of 457 train services across the next three days. Vy and Spekter presented a weekend proposal that met the Norsk Lokomotivførerforbund's demand for harmonised base pay and dropped the request for a permanent rammeturnus system, limiting it to holidays and summer. The union dismissed the offer, with leader Rolf Ringdal noting some movement but emphasizing the gap remains large.

No further offers have been issued, and communication between the sides has stalled, according to Spekter's communications director Tonje Sagstuen. The strike, involving 46 drivers, has already forced hundreds of cancellations, with the Oslo S-Ski line hit hardest on Tuesday and the Drammen-Lillehammer route most affected on Wednesday and Thursday. Ringdal hinted the action could intensify later in the week.
