Ukrainian suspect arrested after stabbing priest to death in Jarosław monastery

A Ukrainian man was detained by police after forcing his way into the St. Nicholas and St. Stanislaus Bishop church at the Benedictine Abbey in Jarosław and stabbing a priest, who later died. Four other people, including clergy and a civilian, were injured and taken to hospital, with several reported in life‑threatening condition. The suspect had arrived in Poland from Germany, attempting to cross at Korczowa before reaching the monastery. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz expressed deep sorrow over the attack and said the perpetrator will be prosecuted.
