UMNO delegate urges renaming of anti-corruption agency to PKRM

At the UMNO General Assembly held in Kuala Lumpur, information chief Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin from Kedah proposed renaming the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to PKRM, echoing the initials of the opposition PKR. He argued that the agency is being weaponised by those in power to damage UMNO's reputation, pointing to recent probes of Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and Jamil Khir Baharom following the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji.

Shaiful described the use of orange and purple detention attire for the two leaders as an attempt to tarnish the party. He also lamented the unfulfilled pledge to place the MACC under parliamentary control, saying no concrete steps have been taken. The delegate accused former critics of political persecution of now employing enforcement bodies against opponents, without providing further details.
