Urbagestión offers Madrid council urgent plan to return Maricarmen to her home

Urbagestión Desarrollo e Inversión has formally asked the Ayuntamiento de Madrid to incorporate a flat on calle del Alcalde Sainz de Baranda 46 into the Reviva scheme, hoping to enable Maricarmen Abascal to return to the dwelling under a stable, affordable lease. The firm stresses the apartment is not on the market and is willing to cede it temporarily to the Empresa Municipal de Vivienda y Suelo (EMVS) and municipal social services for management.

While the proposal emphasizes rapid coordination with the council and possibly other public bodies, the city has not yet commented on the offer or the conditions required. The company also disclosed having received a purchase inquiry from pianist James Rhodes, though no price was specified, and mentioned a surge of mass emails that hampered communication. Earlier statements from the Sindicato de Inquilinas indicated they had not received any details about the new proposal. The Reviva programme generally allows owners to temporarily hand over vacant homes to the EMVS, which then rents them out at reduced rates while the owner retains title.
