Williams sisters reunite for U.S. Open women's doubles debut

Their opponents are the 14th-seeded team of Maya Joint, who defeated Serena at Wimbledon, and Hao-Ching Chan. Serena, back on tour after a four-year break, fell to Joint in a three-set match that left her with a knee injury.

The Williams sisters have a 27-7 record at the U.S. Open, with championships in 1999 and 2009. Earlier in the tournament, Venus was eliminated in singles by Sofia Kenin, a loss that could signal the end of her Grand Slam singles career.
