Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrij Szibiha described the attacks as attempts to disrupt the transmission of life-saving information, emphasizing that the targeted infrastructure is civilian, not military. Defense adviser Szerhij Beszkresznov noted that Ukraine’s internet network is highly decentralized, reducing the risk of total outage. Russian defense officials confirmed that the Datagroup site was chosen because they claim Ukrainian military intelligence uses it, and they have also targeted other telecom hubs such as New-Telco, United DC, Kyivstar and Parkovyi. The strikes have caused widespread internet outages across Kyiv and surrounding regions.
