Zelensky says US resumes intelligence sharing and seeks talks with Washington

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the United States has restarted sending intelligence to Kyiv and expressed hope for upcoming discussions with Washington.

President Volodymyr Zelensky told Meet the Press that the United States has begun sending intelligence to Ukraine again after a period of interruption. He also indicated that Kyiv expects to engage in talks with Washington soon. The remarks were made as Ukrainian forces reported attacks on three Russian positions in the occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including a drone-launch site and a vehicle-repair base.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian authorities said debris from a drone that entered their airspace caused slight damage to a car near Juodzioniai without harming its occupants. NATO fighters were scrambled but poor weather prevented visual identification. Lithuanian officials acknowledged shortcomings in the alert system and pledged further NATO consultations.

Why it matters

Renewed U.S. intelligence support could affect Ukraine's defensive capabilities and diplomatic relations with Washington.
