On Oct. 15 a Russian drone crashed in Kyiv's Pechersk district, hitting the vicinity of a five-storey apartment building and igniting a nearby car. The explosion ripped a kitchen door from its hinges, shattered windows and sent glass scattering, injuring six civilians, three of whom required hospitalization. Local witnesses recounted the sudden panic, with one resident describing tears and shaking, while another recounted rescuing children from the blast zone.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the damage to building facades and the car fire. The incident comes amid a wave of Russian drone strikes, which Ukraine's Air Force says it largely repelled, neutralising 536 of 580 drones across 31 locations.
