DAP chief Loke urges Anwar to call Pakatan Harapan council amid political uncertainty

DAP secretary-general and transport minister Anthony Loke will ask Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to convene a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting to address recent political uncertainty.

DAP secretary-general and transport minister Anthony Loke announced he will request Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to call a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting to review recent political developments. Loke warned that recent comments from component parties in the unity government indicate they are not moving together, which could undermine confidence among investors and the public. He cited UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s September 12 appeal for either a fresh general election or the removal of Barisan Nasional from the coalition.

Loke suggested the prime minister schedule the council meeting after his overseas trip to clarify the government’s direction with all partners. The comments were made during the inauguration of Carsome’s Malaysia-first academy-backed MV15 inspection centre in Sungai Buloh. He emphasized the need for political certainty and stability for the country’s economic outlook.

Why it matters
