Designated premier Siegfried Mureșan says he accepted nomination without hesitation

Siegfried Mureșan confirmed that he did not require any deliberation after President Nicușor Dan notified him of his nomination as head of the Executive. The president called roughly half an hour before the planned public announcement, marking their first conversation about government formation. Mureșan said he accepted the designation immediately, emphasizing the seriousness of the task.

He added that the president, who was traveling to Ukraine and the United States, agreed to discuss the organization of the process upon his return. Mureșan also clarified that he never asked for time to think and that the claim of such a request should be corrected. He has already sent mission letters outlining priorities to the 16 proposed ministers, including a letter to Radu Miruță for the defence portfolio.
