First Digital Civil Circles (DPK) gathering draws thousands to Hungarikum Liget

The inaugural DPK community event was held at the Hungarikum Liget complex, attracting an estimated thousand participants and featuring pro-government speakers.

The Digital Civil Circles (DPK) held its first sizable gathering on a Saturday at the Hungarikum Liget complex, a facility constructed with government backing. Organisers claim roughly a thousand people were present, though exact counts were not verifiable due to media restrictions. Attendance was organized through paid tickets, with early-bird prices at 3,000 and premium tickets up to 100,000, and 800 tickets sold in 48 hours plus an additional 200 invited guests.

The program featured Fidesz faction leaders such as Bóka János and Takács Péter, as well as a range of right-leaning journalists who were allowed to interview participants. Panel discussions focused on the sustainability of state-funded political media, the direction of right-wing outlets, and strategies for engaging younger supporters.

Why it matters

It shows how Hungary's ruling party is mobilising state-backed media networks and funding to shape political discourse.
