Hilman Idham rejects claims of long-standing ties with PH in Selangor talks

Bersatu MP Hilman Idham said the party only began negotiating with PH in Selangor after first sealing a deal with BN in Pahang, countering Ronald Kiandee’s allegation of a pre-planned alliance.

Hilman Idham, the Bersatu representative for Gombak Setia, responded to former party chief Ronald Kiandee’s claim that the party has long sought a partnership with Pakatan Harapan (PH) by stating that any Selangor negotiations only began after Bersatu had already concluded an agreement with Barisan Nasional (BN) in Pahang. He emphasized that the party’s policy is to discuss cooperation with PH or BN only if they refuse to join the Wawasan coalition, which is also sending representatives to negotiate.

Kiandee had alleged that the Selangor talks were pre-arranged and that former PKR members who joined Bersatu, such as Azmin Ali, Hilman Idham and Dr Afif Bahardin, might be driving the effort. Dr Afif Bahardin further rebuked Kiandee, accusing him of betraying party principles and of previously trying to bring Perikatan Nasional together with UMNO president Zahid Hamidi. Hilman concluded that the future direction of Bersatu rests with members who remain loyal to its core values.
