Hungary's Magyar says joint projects could lead to high-level talks with Zelensky in months

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said that after their recent bilateral meeting, ministers will identify joint projects and a high-level summit could be arranged in a few months in Budapest, Kyiv or Transcarpathia.

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar disclosed details of his recent one-on-one meeting with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskyi, emphasizing a shift toward rebuilding the two-country relationship on new foundations. He explained that ministries are now tasked with identifying specific cooperation areas—ranging from healthcare and education facilities to mutually beneficial economic projects—in Transcarpathia and elsewhere.

Successful pilot projects would pave the way for a senior-level summit in the coming months, with locations under consideration being Budapest, Kyiv or the Transcarpathian region. Magyar also referenced a suggestion that Zelenskyi attend a national celebration, but expressed doubt about his attendance. Both leaders agreed to restart joint work at various levels and to coordinate future reciprocal visits through their respective teams.
