MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm and heavy rain alert for ten states and Kuala Lumpur

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds that will affect ten states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 9 p.m. today. In Kedah, the alert includes Sik, Kuala Muda, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap and Baling, while Perak’s covered districts range from Kerian to Selama. Terengganu’s Kemaman, Pahang’s Cameron Highlands, Rompin, Kuantan and Jerantut, and Selangor’s Hulu Langat, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor are also under the warning.

Additional districts in Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah are listed, and the entire Kuala Lumpur area is included. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and heed any further instructions from local officials until the advisory lifts this evening.
