Naše Česko leads in Budějovice count while ANO slips to third place
In the Budějovice municipal election, Naše Česko is ahead, with ANO trailing in third place as results continue to be tallied.
Martin Kuba, head of Naše Česko, praised the party's showing in Budějovice, saying the results could build on the work of the last four election cycles and highlighted the success of their senator Tomáš Fiala. Mayor Dagmar Škodová Parmová initially estimated a starting level near 30 percent for Naše Česko, but the party's share grew as counting progressed. Viktor Lavička of ANO, after more than half of the precincts were counted, noted his candidate's support hovering in the mid-teens and acknowledged that coalition partners HOPB and STAN may have drawn votes away.
He reiterated the party's goal of reaching 24 percent and expressed hope of joining a city council coalition. The Pirates, represented by Pavla Heyduková, discussed possible coalition scenarios but ruled out partnering with Naše Česko. Meanwhile, Ondřej Talíř of the Společně pro Budějovice coalition (KDU-ČSL and TOP 09) reported satisfaction with their current standing around 6.5 percent and aimed for a higher threshold.
