PN leaders demand proof from Bersatu Youth over deregistration claims
Perikatan Nasional secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan told Bersatu Youth to substantiate its accusations that he and coalition chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar caused PN’s deregistration.
During a gathering in Pasir Tumboh, Takiyuddin Hassan, secretary-general of Perikatan Nasional, urged Bersatu Youth to back up its accusations that he and coalition chairman Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar were responsible for PN’s deregistration. He addressed Harris Idaham Rashid directly, saying the youth wing may speak freely but must not levy baseless allegations. The Registrar of Societies Malaysia had cancelled PN’s registration under subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act after finding the coalition’s explanation inadequate.
Takiyuddin highlighted that PN had previously performed well in Johor and Negri Sembilan elections and remains confident about winning seats in the forthcoming Melaka poll. He added that seat allocations are still being finalised but assured that PN will avoid competing against Barisan Nasional candidates. The dispute reflects ongoing internal tensions within the coalition following the deregistration decision.
