PNL Vice President Accuses PSD of Political Betrayal and Rejects New Coalition
Gigel Știrbu, PNL vice-president, posted a manifesto on Facebook condemning PSD’s attempts to pressure the Liberals into a new joint government.
PNL vice-president Gigel Știrbu used a Facebook post to denounce what he described as PSD’s betrayal, alleging that the party is now urging the Liberals to pressure their own leadership for a fresh coalition. He referenced recent comments by PSD head Sorin Grindeanu, who said PSD would back Luca Niculescu’s government only with PNL and UDMR participation, and Ilie Bolojan’s clarification that PNL would vote for the cabinet but would not join a PSD-led administration. Știrbu emphasized that PSD’s past destabilisation should not be remedied by PNL and that the Liberal base remembers previous broken agreements.
He argued that PSD’s current conduct generates greater political repulsion than under former leader Dragnea and called for a moral duty to avoid any future PSD-PNL alliances in upcoming electoral cycles. The post concluded with a pledge for transparency and an end to hidden compromises.
