Police rescue two bloodied men from plastic-lined torture room in Estepona villa

Following a call from a concerned girlfriend, police entered a house in Estepona on September 5 and rescued two men who had been tied up, stripped and left bleeding in a room lined with plastic sheeting. The victims, a Moroccan national and a Spanish national, were discovered alongside a variety of implements such as pliers and hammers, as well as two AK-47 assault rifles and multiple pistols. Seven Georgian nationals were arrested at the scene and later remanded in custody.

Authorities suspect the torture was tied to a drug-gang retaliation, possibly over a failed job, a stolen shipment or an unpaid debt, but the exact motive has not been confirmed. Investigators are considering involving Interpol to locate additional gang members. The case follows similar kidnappings and torture incidents reported in Marbella in 2023 and Fuengirola a month earlier.
