President Prabowo announces launch of 11 new downstream projects in North Maluku
President Prabowo and senior ministers visited Halmahera to unveil 11 downstream projects worth about Rp180 trillion, including the first EV battery export shipment.
President Prabowo, together with Coordinating Ministers for Economic Affairs and Human Development, visited the Halmahera region to kick off a downstream initiative estimated at around Rp180 trillion. The program includes the first shipment of electric-vehicle batteries from Indonesia and the inauguration of 11 new projects within the Weda Bay Industrial Park. Four of the projects are slated for commercialization, while seven will commence construction.
The delegation also featured Housing and Settlements Minister Maruarar Sirait and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. This trip comes shortly after Prabowo appointed Bahlil Lahadalia to head the newly formed Coordinating Ministry for Downstreaming and Energy Transition, a body designed to streamline efforts under the president’s Asta Cita agenda.
