PSD leader Grindeanu says Siegfried Mureșan avoided contact, met Bolojan instead

Sorin Grindeanu, president of the Partidul Social Democrat, told Antena 3 one outlet that Siegfried Mureșan, the newly designated prime minister, has not approached the PSD for parliamentary backing since his nomination on Thursday evening. Grindeanu said he received no messages or requests from Mureșan, contrary to expectations. The only outreach came from former premier Ilie Bolojan, now leader of the PNL, who proposed a meeting in the coming days.

Grindeanu emphasized that any discussions about PSD votes for Mureșan’s investiture must be conducted directly with the designated premier. He suggested that the prospective government lacks sufficient arithmetic unless it secures support from parties outside the usual coalition, possibly including AUR. Grindeanu also remarked that relying on PNL, USR, or UDMR alone would not provide the needed majority.
