Russia claims precision strikes on Ukrainian ports and vessels in Odesa and Mykolaiv
Russia's defence ministry said it hit military warehouses and cargo ships in the Odesa and Mykolaiv ports using precision air-launched weapons and drones.
The ministry reported that Russian forces employed precision air-launched munitions and attack drones to strike military storage sites with communications and electronic-warfare equipment in Odesa. In Mykolaiv, a cargo vessel carrying military gear and a weapons warehouse were targeted, and another dry cargo ship transporting supplies for Ukraine's armed forces was hit in the Black Sea. Independent verification of the claims was not possible.
Why it matters
The strikes aim to disrupt Ukraine's ability to receive and move military supplies via its key Black Sea ports.
