Russian drone and glide-bomb raids kill five and wound dozens across Ukraine
Russian attacks on Oct. 4 killed five people and injured 30 across several Ukrainian oblasts, using drones and glide-bombs.
Over the course of Oct. 4, Russian forces deployed a mix of attack drones and glide-bombs against seven Ukrainian regions, resulting in at least five fatalities and 30 injuries. In Sumy Oblast, three people died and 16 were wounded, including a 52-year-old warehouse employee killed when a drone struck a medical-supplies depot. Kharkiv Oblast saw two deaths and five injuries as multiple weapon types, including FPV and Molniya drones, were used.
Additional attacks in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk and Kyiv caused further injuries and property damage, with Ukrainian air defenses intercepting 125 of the 135 drones launched. Debris from downed munitions fell in several locations, and a drone strike damaged the Northern Bridge in Kyiv for the fourth consecutive day. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had launched over 1,900 drones, 1,700 glide-bombs and 25 missiles in the past week.
