Six Delhi Metro stations to block entry and exit until 4 pm for protest march

Six Delhi Metro stations, including Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat, will keep entry and exit closed from 6 am to 4 pm on Monday due to heightened security for a Congress-led march toward the Supreme Court.

On Monday, six key Delhi Metro stations - Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road - will prohibit entry and exit between 6 am and 4 pm, according to a notice from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Passengers can still use interchange corridors, and the closures will be reassessed by security officials as the situation evolves. The move coincides with a traffic advisory from Delhi Traffic Police, which cautions commuters about possible road diversions and delays in New Delhi and Central Delhi.

The security tightening is intended to manage the Congress-led protest march heading toward the Supreme Court, where opposition figures plan to challenge the Special Intensive Revision process and call for the ouster of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Authorities are monitoring the event closely to mitigate any impact on public transport and road traffic.
