DAP to set stance after Najib Razak receives conditional royal pardon

DAP announced that its central executive committee will meet tomorrow to decide how to react to the conditional pardon awarded to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Secretary-general Loke Siew Fook said the party has consistently demanded justice and accountability for the 1MDB scandal and continues to push for an independent, fair investigation of any misconduct. He added that Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Federal Territories Hannah Yeoh, who sits on the Pardons Board, conveyed a stance that mirrors DAP’s principles while fulfilling her constitutional duties.

Loke emphasized DAP’s respect for the king’s pardoning authority under the Federal Constitution, as well as its commitment to constitutional monarchy, the rule of law and anti-corruption efforts. The upcoming CEC meeting will determine the party’s subsequent actions and public messaging.
