George Simion questions Romania's choice as parliament votes on Niculescu government
AUR leader George Simion posted a Facebook message questioning whether parliament will choose the Romanian people or betray them ahead of the vote on Luca Niculescu’s proposed cabinet.
Ahead of the parliamentary vote on Luca Niculescu’s new cabinet, AUR president George Simion posted a Facebook message that framed the decision as a choice between the Romanian people and betrayal. His post included a live stream of Niculescu’s address, in which the designated premier presented a platform focused on raising pensions, supporting low-income families, abolishing the turnover tax, and boosting spending on education, health and digital infrastructure.
Niculescu arrived at the Parliament building to seek the minimum 233 affirmative votes required for a full-mandate government. All eighteen prospective ministers have obtained favourable approvals, positioning the cabinet for immediate implementation if confidence is granted.
Why it matters
The vote will determine whether Romania’s new government gains full authority to implement its economic and social agenda.
