Kharge accuses CEC of vote theft, calls for protest and Nitish's RSS links

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge alleged large-scale vote theft by chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in favour of the BJP and urged a mass rally in New Delhi on November 1.

At a ceremony in Patna marking the 139th birth anniversary of Sri Krishna Singh, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge intensified his attack on chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of orchestrating a massive "vote-theft" that benefitted the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He urged citizens to join an INDIA bloc rally in New Delhi on November 1 to demand the CEC’s ouster, the reversal of the 2023 immunity law for election officials, and an end to the special intensive revision of electoral rolls.

Kharge linked these allegations to earlier warnings by Rahul Gandhi and said governments in Bengal, Haryana, Bihar and Maharashtra were similarly obtained through fraudulent means. He also condemned the Modi government for failing on promises such as repatriating black money and creating jobs, and targeted JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar for aligning with the RSS, declaring that peace would elude the nation until RSS ideology is eliminated. The event, organized by Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh, featured internal dissent with banners demanding the resignation of BPCC president Rajesh Ram and AICC in-charge Krishna Allavaru.

Why it matters
