President urges military and police to raise professionalism amid hybrid threats

President Prabowo Subianto called on senior TNI and Polri officers to boost professionalism, citing hybrid warfare and drone challenges.

President Prabowo Subianto addressed a gathering of 800 senior TNI and Polri officers at Jakarta’s Presidential Palace, stressing the need to enhance personnel professionalism in response to global risks. He pointed to hybrid warfare and the increasing use of drones as key challenges requiring updated education and training programs. The president also called for a merit-based recruitment system that offers equal chances to capable candidates, even those who wear glasses.

Coordinating Minister Dudung Abdurachman relayed the president’s gratitude for the military and police contributions to food and energy security and national stability. TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and Polri Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto attended, viewing the forum as an opportunity to receive direct directives. The briefing was timed ahead of the second anniversary of Prabowo’s administration to outline the nation’s current conditions.
