South Korea's KBO Stars Kick Off Asian Games Prep with Seoul Practice
South Korea's national baseball squad, made up of KBO stars, held its first training session in Seoul ahead of the Asian Games.
On Tuesday, the South Korean national baseball team, comprising 24 KBO athletes, gathered for its inaugural practice at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome under manager Ryu Ji-hyun. Star slugger Kim Do-yeong, fresh from surgery on a broken nose, participated fully and is slated to bat in the lineup’s core. Injured veterans Moon Bo-gyeong (lower back) and Lee Jae-hyeon (neck) also took part in drills.
Hanwha Eagles infielder Roh Si-hwan, 25, was appointed team captain to bridge the gap between older and younger players. After conditioning sessions, the team will head to Nagoya for the Asian Games, where they aim for a fifth straight gold, beginning with a Group B clash against Chinese Taipei.
